Christmas

This year we had a great Christmas! We spent Christmas Eve with my family and had a great time. The kids got some great gifts from all Grandma and Grandpa and all of there cousins.

At the end of the party I let my kids open their Christmas PJ's. This year instead of buying pajamas, my mom talked me into making them. So I picked out the fabric and had great intentions of making them myself but, with my mom not working because of her surgery she had a ton of time on her hands and she had them made practically before I knew what was happening. She did a great job and my kids love them!

Justin was so excited this year about Santa coming he could hardly contain his excitement. He was awake at 5 a.m. but he never came to wake us up I guess he just figured it was still to early. He came in at about 7 a.m. but then we made him wait until Garret woke up. The only morning Garrett sleeps in! They had a great time opening up presents! Justin opened up a few Wii accessories and we were teasing him about Santa forgetting to leave the Wii. But he finally went to look by the TV and there it was all ready to play. He loves it and has done nothing but play it since. Garrett does not really care about the Wii. We tried to get him to play bowling with us on Christmas morning but he was not really into it. He does however love his remote control car that Santa brought him. He makes it go and chases it and laughs! It is pretty cute to watch him play with it!

We decide since the weather was so bad on Christmas day that we would just stay home. My mom and dad did brave the weather and they came here and had breakfast with us and we invited ourselves to the Dagley's for dinner. We had a great day.

Christmas Program

Justin had his first grade Christmas Program on Friday, it was so cute. He was a little toy soldier. He did a great job singing and dancing. He was not so good at keeping a beat with the music while playing the drums. We love him anyway he really is a great kid!

THE SNOW CAME!

Mike went out to shovel the snow that we got over night. Justin wanted to help since it is one of his favorite things to do. And of coarse Garrett was not about to stay in the house by himself since his dad and brother were both outside having fun in the snow. So after getting every ones snow clothes on they were all out shoveling the snow before 8 a.m.!!

I think they were both more of a hindrance than a help but they had a blast!!!

O' Christmas Tree

This year we deceided to cut down our pine tree that we planted in our front yard. I love the tree. It has almost lived here as long as we have but...I just did not want it to get any bigger. We thought it would be the perfect size this year for our Christmas tree.

We thought it might be a little big to fit in our bay window. We didn't realize that not only would it not fit in our bay window but it would barley fit in our house. It is only about six inches from nearly the highest point in our vaulted ceiling. I love it!!! I think it is so pretty. Justin loves it because we had to use the ladder to decorate it. Garrett loves it because "BIG Tree" it is so funny to hear him comment in his gruff deep voice on how big the tree is.

I talked Mike into helping me string popcorn to go on the tree. It took us about 3 1/2 hours to string enough popcorn to go on the tree but it looks really good.

I just realized I don't have a picture of the finished tree. I will post a picture of the finished product soon.

Thanksgiving Play

Yesterday in School, Justin's cute little 1st Grade class did a Thanksgiving play. They all got to dress up as Indians or Pilgrims, my mom made Justin a cute little Indian costume which he was super excited about. Each kid in his class had a part they got to say. They all did such a good job with their parts, singing, and dancing. This Thanksgiving one thing I am so thankful for is that Justin has such a great teacher and he enjoys school. Happy Thanksgiving!

4-wheeling in November

The last few weeks the weather has been so nice we decided to go for a 4-wheeler ride. It was a nice day, but I guess you are bound to run into snow at some point when riding in November. It was a little cold but we had fun anyway.
Garrett and Mike eating lunch, he would not eat until Mike was sitting on the rock with him.
Justin got to sled down the hill a few times while the boys were playing on the 4-wheelers in the snow!
Mike was so proud that he got the "high mark"
and then Mike got stuck...
