Fourth of July Celebrations

This year for the Fourth we went to the parade in Oakley.  We had a good time!  After the Parade we went Geo Caching up Mirror Lake we stopped at the Provo River Falls.  We had a good day!

Waiting for the Parade!
Getting the candy!(the favorite part of the parade)
This was my favorite parade entry!  I loved that the horse was wearing clown pants with suspenders!
Mike walked across the river at Provo River falls.  We went for a drive up there about the end of May(I forgot my camera that day) spring run off was so high it was amazing to see the difference!
The kids found this Geo Cache!  They get so excited to see what is in them and what they are going to take.
Happy 4th!

This is the Place Heritage Park

On Wednesdays the Heritage Park's Admission is only $2.00 I thought I would take advantage of the price and take the kids down.  Justin had a great time he was so excited to do each of the activities.  Garrett not so much he was being shy when the pioneer people tried to talk to him.  It was a great day!

Justin loved this little string toy.  It is made to imitate milking a cow.  He was actually pretty good at it.

He finally talked Garrett into doing it with him.
Justin loved this game.  You throw the bean bag from one side of the can and turn the stick and try to catch it with the other side!
This string game was Garrett's favorite!
Each of them got to wash laundry on a board and hang it out to dry! Justin love beating the rug to get the dirt and dust out of it!
We seen a few baby bunnies.  They boys are trying chase it!
Justin got an old fashion shave.  We couldn't talk Garrett into sitting in the chair for one.
They did sit in the school house for a while and listen to the teacher try to teach them the alphabet!
They got to dip candles Garrett didn't want anything to do with it!
We had a good time it was fun to let the kids see some of the things the pioneers did!

Stewart Falls

We decide to hike to Stewart Falls for family night.  Amazing!!!  We have never been there before it was so pretty and the boys did great!  We had a great time!
We are almost there!  We can see the Falls!
The boys having a little snack before we head back!
Garrett got a little tired the last little bit of the hike so Mike carried him on his shoulders!

My Helper

Garrett wanted to help me take the Laundry off the clothes line.  If was so cute watching him trying to reach the clothes pins!
On a side note: Whenever we go out of town whether we go to Provo, Salt Lake or even to Grandmas house the minute we drive back into town Garrett always seems to notice.  He gets pretty excited and will say look mom we are back in "our world".  I love that he calls it our world, I have tried to explain to him that it is our town but he prefers our world.

A DAY OUT WITH THOMAS

We took Justin to a day out with Thomas a few years ago but Garrett has never been.  He wanted to go last year so bad (we made the mistake of driving by.)  So I thought it would be fun for him this year so I collected the water bill coupons from my neighbors and we went.  The kids had fun but I think we have had our fill of the Heber Valley Rail Road for a very long time!
Justin had just managed to get a hole in one!

Butterflies

Justin got a butterfly habitat for his birthday.  We ordered the caterpillars through the mail.  When they came there were tiny, it didn't take them long to grow and make cocoons.  We transferred them to the cage and within a week they were starting to come out of their cocoons.  Both boys loved watching them.  When they were caterpillars Garrett would run to look at them and them come back and say Mom you have got to come see the Caterpillar they are getting huge!  When they turned into butterflies we kept them for about a week because of the Weather and let them go the morning of Mothers Day!

Happy Birthday Garrett!

Garrett's Birthday was on the same day as Justin's Baptism so we decided celebrate a little early and have Cake and Ice Cream the night before at my parents house!  He even got to open his gifts from his Grandparents after he blew out the candles on this cute Lego cake my mom made him!
Before we left to go to the Baptism we let Garrett open his gifts.  For weeks the only thing he told me he wanted for his Birthday was Diego's rescue pack.  I was not going to spent $20 on a rescue pack but a week or so before his birthday I found one on clearance for $4.  I as so excited and on the morning of his Birthday it was so worth it.  He loved it.  He really could have cared less about any of his other gifts.  He did love the others but the rescue pack was the best!

After the baptism and Luncheon Grandma and Grandpa Staley went with us to Chuck E Cheese.  He loved it!

Happy Birthday Little Buddy!
