Little Buckaroo Rodeo

Garrett had such a good time at the Little Buckaroo Rodeo this year at the Summit County Fair. He got to do all of his favorite things while we were at the fair this year. He loved riding the 4-wheeler with Mike while they raked around the barrels and poles.
He got to ride a sheep! I don't know if he loved it but he didn't cry for very long after he fell off!
He got to ride his stick horse around the barrels. His horse must have been out of control because instead of riding around the barrels his stick horse took off past the barrels clear to the other end of the arena!

By the time Mike caught up to him to get him to come back it must have embarrassed him because he started to cry.

Just a cute picture of Garrett and Jonathon after they had run the stick horse barrels!

Whitney Reservoir

We decided to try to take our annual ride into the Whitney Reservoir. Justin was super excited to go so that he could spend the day fishing. When we left Heber the weather was super nice. It was a beautiful day, by the time that we started into our ride it was cloudy and overcast. When we arrived at the Whitney it had started to rain on us. We did not have great luck fishing because of the bad weather but we had fun anyway.

Garrett got a little tired of fishing and decided that it was a lot more fun to play with the stick!

The Carousel

We had a few tokens to the Carousel at the Zermatt that we had to use by the 30th so we took the kids over and had lunch, and then rode the carousel a couple of times. The kids loved it! After we went to the Wasatch Mountain State Park to feed the duck and play at the park. A good time was had by all!

Justin did not think that he would be able to do the monkey bars at the park but with a little encouragement he did it and he did a great job!

CAMPING

We went on our annual Strawberry Camping trip with our neighbors this last weekend and we had a great time. It turned out to be a great weekend with minimal rain. What more can you ask for!
We decided to take the battery Jeeps for the kids. Garrett loved this he could not stop squealing, the Jeep is one of his all time favorite toys he is a great driver with all of the open space for him to drive on he loved it!

All the kids had fun playing with each other. I must say they all got along pretty well.

We did go crawdad fishing while were was there but we didn't have a very sucessful catch this year. Here is a picture of the guys eating what little they did catch.

We went for a 4-wheeler ride both days, Garrett loves to ride with his dad but latley you can tell when he is starting to get sleepy because he wants to ride on the back of my 4-wheeler so he can recline. This is how he slept while we were riding down the road.

Last but not least Justin always had a good time when he can shoot his bb gun. Him and Ben got to shoot there cans a few time and he thought that it was great.

We had a great time and can hardly wait to go back.

What a Weekend

Fathers Day Weekend was not such a good weekend for our family. The Ward had the annual Father and Sons camp out on Friday night. Mike and the boys headed out but not long after they had left Mike called me and told me that as he was dropping the front door on the trailer it fell and hit the truck bed. He was a little mad but what can you do that damage was already done! Then early on Saturday morning I was awaken by the phone ringing, it was Mike telling me he was going to drive down and go to the doctor his jaw was really swollen and fevered. After a visit to the 5 minute clinic he learned he had an abscessed tooth and was given some antibiotics to clear it up. The plan was that the boys would go to the Father and Sons on Friday night and then the girls would go up on Saturday and we would stay another night. So after the Dr. visit we headed back up. It was raining but not to bad. Early in the afternoon we decided to go for a 4-wheeler ride. We had a pretty good ride Mike was trying to find a trail or road on his GPS so we would not have to back track to get back to camp. The one he found was no longer a trail as we soon found out. It got pretty steep, Mike went on ahead of everyone to see if we would be able to get through while he was gone it started to rain really really hard. He was gone for quite a while just as we were talking about going to find him he walked up, letting us know that he had rolled his 4-wheeler down a pretty steep hill. We decided to just leave it where it was and go back the next day to get it. On Sunday morning we went back to get it and this is how we found it. (Not the best photo but you get the idea) This was defently a weekend I do not want to have again anytime soon if ever.

Chuck E Cheese

The kids have never been to Chuck E Cheese's before. (I know I am a terrible mom) Justin has been asking to go there for a couple of years. So when Jen said she was going to go there for Skylar's birthday we were on board. The kids had a blast! Garrett love the monster truck and was in it pretty much the whole time we were there. Garrett was also pretty fascinated with Chuck E Cheese.

A LITTLE OF THIS AND THAT

Caution: This post could be very long!!!

With the weather being so nice I really tried every chance I got to talk Mike into leaving work early for a 4-wheeler ride. Justin loved it because he finally got to shoot his BB gun. As we were riding through the creek Mike spotted this little snake and caught it. Justin was sure we needed to take it home as a pet. The frogs we caught last summer were one thing. I draw the line with snakes!! So we let it go! Justin got over it!

I got to go on Justin's field trip with him. We had a great time! They went to the Clark Planetarium and the Discovery Gateway. Justin loved the under the Sea 3-D movie that they seen at the planetarium and since we recently went to the Discovery Gateway he already had his favorite activities and he spent most of his time doing those!! (I am a little sad I no longer have a 1st grader. Justin had a great year with a great teacher that really cared about the kids. But we were both ready for a break!)

On Memorial Day we took our annual trip to the Zoo with Grandpa and Grandma! Garrett loved it and could not get enough! We heard over and over "lets got see more animals" and he would take off running! Both kids loved the Carousel only Garrett could not decide what animal he wanted to ride! I think he changed three time before the ride started!

On one of our 4-wheeler rides we came to a place in the road where it was really muddy and not such a good road. I stopped and told Mike I was not driving on it! So he decided to make a go of it! Needless to say he did not make it either! He got pretty stuck! I am sure he loved every minute of it!

And last but not least... Mike's brother Tom is in town for a their nephew Devon's Wedding. It was a beautiful day! Congratulations so Devon and Lynzie!
So yesterday Mike, Tom and Kari took the Justin, Garrett, and Raymond on the Heber Creeper! The kids loved it and had a great time! (Thanks Tom)
