Garrett's First Trip to the Dentist

Garrett had his first visit with the dentist yesterday. He did pretty good. He thought he would do a lot worse so I went prepared with a little bribery. Thank goodness I did. I had to use it. Justin went first and we let Garrett watch him and then it was Garrett's turn. He climbed up into the chair everything was fine until she laid the chair back and asked him to slide his head up onto the chairs pillow. He started to cry. So I pulled out the little gun I had bought him and opened it. Everything was not alright in the world for him but he tolerated it. I didn't even think he would let them touch him, so I was pretty proud of him. (I took some picture of Justin but I was so busy trying to keep Garrett happy that I forgot to take pictures of him.

Neither Justin or Garrett had any Cavities!! Hurray!!

RELAXING

We spent this past weekend in the mountains near Strawberry Reservoir. We had a great time! Because of my recent surgery it was the most relaxing camping trip I think that I have ever been on. My dear sweet neighbors and my sweet husband did all of the work and when I say all of the work I mean all of the work. The only thing they let me do was dry the dishes one morning. I felt really bad that they went to so much work so that I could rest but we did have a great time!
There was a little stream right in our camping area that the kids decided to play in on Saturday afternoon, I did step my feet in and that was all I could tolerate of the ice cold water. However the kids didn't seem to care they played in it for a few hours. There was part of a dam already there so Mike helped the kids to make it bigger and better. Sometimes I wonder who is the bigger kid? Some of us went for a 4-wheeler ride, and on Saturday night we all went to Strawberry for some fishing and to catch some crawdads.

The dirt was so fine this is what the kids looked like after playing in it for just a little while!

The water was so cold that Garrett wanted to play in it but he couldn't take the cold he would put his feet in it and cry.

All the kids playing in the water!

Garrett doing one of his favorite things! Playing in the dirt. I think his motto is "The dirtier the better!"

Little Buckaroo Rodeo

Garrett had such a good time at the Little Buckaroo Rodeo this year at the Summit County Fair. He got to do all of his favorite things while we were at the fair this year. He loved riding the 4-wheeler with Mike while they raked around the barrels and poles.
He got to ride a sheep! I don't know if he loved it but he didn't cry for very long after he fell off!
He got to ride his stick horse around the barrels. His horse must have been out of control because instead of riding around the barrels his stick horse took off past the barrels clear to the other end of the arena!

By the time Mike caught up to him to get him to come back it must have embarrassed him because he started to cry.

Just a cute picture of Garrett and Jonathon after they had run the stick horse barrels!

Whitney Reservoir

We decided to try to take our annual ride into the Whitney Reservoir. Justin was super excited to go so that he could spend the day fishing. When we left Heber the weather was super nice. It was a beautiful day, by the time that we started into our ride it was cloudy and overcast. When we arrived at the Whitney it had started to rain on us. We did not have great luck fishing because of the bad weather but we had fun anyway.

Garrett got a little tired of fishing and decided that it was a lot more fun to play with the stick!

The Carousel

We had a few tokens to the Carousel at the Zermatt that we had to use by the 30th so we took the kids over and had lunch, and then rode the carousel a couple of times. The kids loved it! After we went to the Wasatch Mountain State Park to feed the duck and play at the park. A good time was had by all!

Justin did not think that he would be able to do the monkey bars at the park but with a little encouragement he did it and he did a great job!

CAMPING

We went on our annual Strawberry Camping trip with our neighbors this last weekend and we had a great time. It turned out to be a great weekend with minimal rain. What more can you ask for!
We decided to take the battery Jeeps for the kids. Garrett loved this he could not stop squealing, the Jeep is one of his all time favorite toys he is a great driver with all of the open space for him to drive on he loved it!

All the kids had fun playing with each other. I must say they all got along pretty well.

We did go crawdad fishing while were was there but we didn't have a very sucessful catch this year. Here is a picture of the guys eating what little they did catch.

We went for a 4-wheeler ride both days, Garrett loves to ride with his dad but latley you can tell when he is starting to get sleepy because he wants to ride on the back of my 4-wheeler so he can recline. This is how he slept while we were riding down the road.

Last but not least Justin always had a good time when he can shoot his bb gun. Him and Ben got to shoot there cans a few time and he thought that it was great.

We had a great time and can hardly wait to go back.

What a Weekend

Fathers Day Weekend was not such a good weekend for our family. The Ward had the annual Father and Sons camp out on Friday night. Mike and the boys headed out but not long after they had left Mike called me and told me that as he was dropping the front door on the trailer it fell and hit the truck bed. He was a little mad but what can you do that damage was already done! Then early on Saturday morning I was awaken by the phone ringing, it was Mike telling me he was going to drive down and go to the doctor his jaw was really swollen and fevered. After a visit to the 5 minute clinic he learned he had an abscessed tooth and was given some antibiotics to clear it up. The plan was that the boys would go to the Father and Sons on Friday night and then the girls would go up on Saturday and we would stay another night. So after the Dr. visit we headed back up. It was raining but not to bad. Early in the afternoon we decided to go for a 4-wheeler ride. We had a pretty good ride Mike was trying to find a trail or road on his GPS so we would not have to back track to get back to camp. The one he found was no longer a trail as we soon found out. It got pretty steep, Mike went on ahead of everyone to see if we would be able to get through while he was gone it started to rain really really hard. He was gone for quite a while just as we were talking about going to find him he walked up, letting us know that he had rolled his 4-wheeler down a pretty steep hill. We decided to just leave it where it was and go back the next day to get it. On Sunday morning we went back to get it and this is how we found it. (Not the best photo but you get the idea) This was defently a weekend I do not want to have again anytime soon if ever.
